What life do you want to live?
Wherever you are, whatever your starting point, it is possible to change your life. It is possible to live a life you love, a life that lights you up and is centered around what you value and what you hold dear. Using nervous system regulation, the incredible neuroplasticity of the brain and unlocking unused movement patterns in the body we can reprogram our internal and external world and live a life full of way more potential and possibility. Not by being in-human, or some super human, but by embracing all of what it means to be human. When we learn to connect with love, to show safety and compassion to the parts of ourselves we’ve may have ignored or pushed away, we free up so much energy and capacity to make the changes we really want in our life. What’s more, these changes last, because we’re not trying to push any parts of ourselves out of the way to get there. So whatever you want to work on, whether it’s building strength, fitness and resilience in your body, eating a healthier diet, losing weight, managing chronic illness or pain, feeling more confident or reducing stress, anxiety and negative thoughts; I’m here to remind you what’s really possible in your life. Connect your brain your body and your heart
Brain
Have you experienced a time where your brain says go go go, but your body brings you to a firm stop? This could be as simple as the struggle to exercise or in more severe cases needing to completely avoid a situation for the fear of what it will bring up. It is so easy to tell ourselves there’s something wrong with us, we’re lazy, not good enough; when in reality our body is simply trying to protect us from something. Our most basic human need is for safety. So when our body seems to lock us down for some unknown reason, it’s because it’s perceiving some threat. So how do we go about changing this…? We do this through a process called insourcing, where rather than looking for safety out there, we find it, experience it and learn to live it in our own body. Once we begin to feel truly deeply safe, the blocks tend to disappear and we are so much freer to make the changes we really want.
Body
Movement and exercise have the power to transform not only our physical body but our mental and emotional way of being from the inside out. Our belief systems and traumas don’t only live and can replay in our mind, but in the patterns movements and behaviors we exhibit in our body. I specialize in combining the biomechanics of human movement, with nervous system reprogramming and somatic work. With this approach we free up so much more possibility for change because we’re repatterning body movements at the route through the nervous system too. This is incredibly effective for people with pain, injuries, pelvic floor issues, body image, mental health and more. If you find your body is stuck in the same old patterns and you feel a specialist approach that includes the nervous system could help you, then you’re in the right place.
Heart
What do YOU want? What lights YOU up? It is so easy to end up living a life we feel we didn’t choose and so often fear of the unknown can keep us stuck there. So how do you find the strength and space to make the things you want a reality? When we begin to experience our true self worth that’s not dependent a job, a family situation, how our body looks, our achievements or failures; living a life that’s more aligned to ourself becomes so much more possible. This unlocks a whole new level of confidence that doesn’t come and go over time. Plus we become more ok with the life we already have, because we’re less motivated to avoid negative feelings and chase good ones, because we know how to navigate through all of it. We feel resilient. When less of our energy goes on avoiding feeling bad, we actually have so much more capacity for change and to step into any dreams we really want for our life.
